Installation Instructions: How to Glue Your Weed Deflector

1. Clean the Surface
   Use isopropyl alcohol or a mild solvent to thoroughly clean the area just ahead of your rudder where the deflector will be mounted. The surface must be dry, smooth, and free of dust, oil, or wax.

2. Dry Fit the Deflector
   Position the weed deflector just in front of the rudder to ensure it will intercept debris without interfering with rudder movement. Mark the outline lightly with a pencil or masking tape for guidance.

3. Apply Marine-Grade Epoxy or Gel Glue
   Use a small amount of high-strength, waterproof epoxy or gel-style superglue (e.g., Loctite Gel Control, Sikaflex, or West System epoxy). Apply evenly to the bottom of the deflector.

4. Press and Hold
   Firmly press the deflector into place following your marks. Hold it for 30–60 seconds to ensure initial adhesion. Use masking tape or clamps to secure it if needed.

5. Cure Time
   Allow the adhesive to cure fully — usually 12–24 hours, depending on product instructions. Avoid water exposure during this period.

6. Go Paddle
   Once cured, you’re ready to hit the water — cleaner, faster, and tangle-free.
